Give Your Lawn a Strong Head Start on Spring — Before Winter Hits
Cold Snap is our final seasonal treatment that prepares your lawn to go dormant the right way. While your grass slows down on top, its roots are still active. That’s where Cold Snap works—delivering the nutrients your lawn needs to store energy, strengthen roots, and bounce back greener, thicker, and faster once warmer weather returns.
Why Use a Winterizer?
Without proper nutrients going into winter, your lawn can wake up thin, patchy, or stressed. Cold Snap helps your lawn:
-
Grow deeper, stronger roots before dormancy
-
Boost cold tolerance and winter weather resilience
-
Green up earlier and more evenly in spring
-
Develop denser growth that naturally crowds out weeds

Cold Snap FAQs
Q: Why does my lawn need a winterizer?
A: As temperatures cool, your grass stops growing above the surface—but its root system is still active. Winterizer feeds and strengthens those roots so your lawn stores energy through winter and comes back fuller and greener in spring.
Q: When should I apply Cold Snap?
A: Apply in late fall, right before your lawn goes completely dormant (typically when daytime temps are consistently below 50°F). This usually occurs around mid-November to Thanksgiving.
Q: Does it work on my type of grass?
A: Yes—Cold Snap is ideal for all cool-season grasses, including Kentucky bluegrass, fescues, and perennial ryegrass. If you live in the northern half of the U.S., this is likely your lawn type.
Q: Is this safe for kids and pets?
A: Yes. Cold Snap is made with natural ingredients and has no harsh synthetic chemicals. Once the lawn is dry, it’s safe for everyone to enjoy.
Q: How do I apply it?
A: Just attach the included hose-end sprayer, turn on your hose, and apply evenly across your lawn. There’s no mixing, measuring, or separate equipment needed.
Q: How long until I see results?
A: The real payoff is in early spring—you’ll see faster green-up, stronger thickening, and fewer bare spots compared to untreated lawns. Root health now = better growth later.
Q: How much does one bottle cover?
A: One bottle treats up to 2,500 sq. ft. If your lawn is larger, grab multiple bottles or select your size in the dropdown.
Q: Does it need to be watered in?
A: This step is optional. It's designed to sit on the lawn without the need for water. Over the course of the winter its worked into the soil by the freeze and thaw cycles, and starts working in the spring as soil temperatures warm and biological activity increases.
