Pulverize Broadleaf Weed Control Application Guide

Pulverize Broadleaf Weed Control is a post-emergent treatment that spot treats the most common broadleaf weeds after they grow - without damaging your grass. It kills existing weeds at the root, and is most effective to apply when weeds are actively growing.

Pulverize is easy to apply with a hose-end sprayer, and is iron-based with no harsh chemicals. It also protects your grass, targeting only weeds without harming good turf.

When to Apply:

Apply Pulverize whenever you want to spot treat weeds during the growing season. You’ll apply a second time one to two weeks later.

How to Apply:

  1. Shake the bottle well and then remove the cap.

  2. Insert the spray top, straw side down into the bottle.

  3. Attach the bottle to your hose on the other end of the sprayer top. Turn the hose on and the plastic dial to “on.”

  4. Give weeds a quick spray and allow the product to dry on the lawn. Do not irrigate until at least 12 hours later.

  5. Apply again two weeks later.

  6. Weeds will turn brownish-black and die off.

Tips:

  • If using a tank or backpack sprayer, add 5 oz of Pulverize per gallon of water. Consider using a teaspoon of non-ionic surfactant to help the product coat the leaves.

  • If you have trouble with your application, chat with us at getlawnbright.com or Contact Us for help.

  • Do not apply if your lawn is under heat or drought stress.

  • Do not apply if daytime temperature exceeds 85 degrees.

  • Do not apply if rain is expected within 12 hours.

FAQs:

What is Pulverize? How does Pulverize work?

Pulverize is a natural, iron-based post-emergent that helps kill broadleaf weeds that are actively growing. (To kill weeds prior to growth, try Weed Wipeout, our organic pre-emergent.) Pulverize controls the most common broadleaf weeds without damaging your healthy turf.

Pulverize can be used as either a broadcast application (when used with a hose end applicator) or a spot treatment (when used with a tank or backpack sprayer). Simply hook the bottle to your hose, spray on the targeted weeds, and then spray again one to two weeks later. Weeds will turn brownish-black and die off. You may notice your lawn will be discolored with a dark reddish hue, but it will return to it’s normal color in about a week.

How much does a bottle of Pulverize cover?

Each bottle covers approximately 1,250 sq ft. You will need to apply the product twice.

Is Pulverize safe for my kids and pets?

Yes. All of our products, including Pulverize, are made from natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals. This means that they are safe for your kids and pets, as well as better for the earth and your grass.

How long do I need to wait to let my dog play on the lawn?

We recommend allowing the products to dry on your lawn prior to using the lawn again.

Is Pulverize part of my custom lawn plan?

Pulverize is an option add-on for custom lawn plan customers, or can be purchased on its own. If you’re a lawn plan customer, you might want to purchase Pulverize to help attack weeds that sprout up during the growing season.

How would I use Pulverize with my custom lawn care plan?

Pulverize can be used anytime that weeds are actively growing, and will not interfere with your other lawn care applications.

Will I see improvement in my lawn right away?

You’ll see weeds begin to turn brownish black and die off shortly after spraying your first and second applications of Pulverize. You can then hand pull them if you’d like. The best way to ensure that they don’t return is to crowd out the area with overseeding and healthy turf. Do not apply this product more than twice per year to the same area of your lawn.

I have too much product. Can I save it for later?

Yes. Lawnbright products have a shelf life of 1 year, so you can store products in your garage, shed or basement for next season.

I’m a beginner. Are the products hard to apply?

Not at all! Lawnbright is designed to be beginner friendly, with no special equipment needed. Simply hook your Lawnbright products up to your hose and spray them on your lawn - that’s it!

How to Store Product After Use:

Cap your product tightly and store in a cool, dry place such as the garage, basement or shed. Use product within a year.
